Last night, we tackled getting the solar cover on the pool. Not an ideal task to take care of after dark...with just a sliver of a moon and the light of the barn to guide us....we'd hoped to do this over the weekend, but it still needed some professional help first that only wrapped up yesterday afternoon. We decided to get a pool guy for the first few steps here- like taking off the heavy winter cover, deep-cleaning , giving everything a solid once over..and teaching us how to manage the weekly maintenance ourselves!
Anyway, last night was the big moment to pull out the summer cover. It was pretty gross, and like so many things here, it needed some serious scrubbing.
The good news is that things seem to be in pretty solid shape. I keep touching wood on this one - we're really lucky, because we didn't have a pool inspection prior to moving in - not an easy thing to have done in the middle of winter. And the barn is full of tools to help us keep things in order. I love ratting around out there (especially now that we've located all the light switches). Here's my favorite find of the week- a poster dated 1976 ( it was a very good year!) - a great sign, really....

With any luck, the serious sun that is predicted for the next few days will come through & we should be swimming here very soon. We've got our bathing suits and towels ready...can't wait to jump in there already.
