Once the structural issues were solved, the (brilliant) tile man was booked with other projects. And then we had a marathon round of having our moms here for a few weeks, when we put a slight pause on things (2 moms + workmen in the house = I don't think I would have been able to cope!).
Having the moms here was lovely and well worth any delays on our house projects (and then some). They also spurred a wonderful weekend trip to Philadelphia (highlights included a ballgame, the Barnes Foundation, and memorable meals here and here). We also made many day trips to New York (city and Hudson Valley). It's official that any excuse to hop across the Hudson is a good one. H.'s mom last day here was a truly snapshot superb one, strolling through Central Park among other places.
