The major event somehow though, remains, the day we moved to Berlin -- a dozen years ago, this week. A significant leap and life change, blurred and marked by the world events around us.
It was hot, there was a line, I get it, but I was still a little surprised, the other day, that H. didn't want to join my mother and me at the downtown memorial. The buildings around get taller and taller, closer to completion; the museum, too. Here we are a dozen years later --growing and changing and making beautiful things around what we've lost.
