Digging time

H is quite the gardener! He's been coming home early and putting time in out there these past few days. This is what he calls it "going to the gym." Things are shaping up well, and over the course of the last few weeks, there's more forsythia, and fewer messy corners...and he's tearing out all the pachysandra on the right side of the house. I was a little reluctant on the decision to do the last bit but have to admit now that it was a good idea. It's much cleaner, and H. has also uncovered (and is now filling) a few more holes into the basement! Which is a good thing...The daffodils, grape hyacinth, johnny jump ups, lobelia and and more are adding colour to the garden.

The irises, lilacs and peonies are next (as are more weeds, which is why I should be out there slowly)...love this time of year.
