The last week of the year was spent in one of my very favourite places in the world, back in our old village, with dear friends. It was so good to be able to take my old walk through the vineyards, nearly every day of our visit. The winter light there is fantastic with the mountains, sky and lake, and I feel lucky to have spent so much time enjoying it in wonderful company.
This morning, partly to feed the homesickness for Switzerland, and partly to remind ourselves how great it is to be here (how lucky are we to be out in the country, but also able to be on 5th Avenue in about an hour), we went to a beautiful Hodler exhibit in the city this morning. I was very excited to see this (even if it was the last day; we are champions of last day of the exhibit visits), particularly as it was done in conjunction with the Beyeler Fondation, where it will be shown next. It made for a good day out, an it was a perfect meditation/companion to the tough last few months, and the beauty that is still to come.
