Yesterday was another hot one, with a dramatic storm at the end of the day. We watched it from underneath of the overhang on the back porch (our house guest really likes this spot, which we rarely use otherwise). The power cut for a few hours, and I'm pretty proud that we managed to get (a pretty tasty) dinner on all the same! I've gotten quite a bit better at this routine, and saved enough water to do the dishes at the end of the night (our well pump runs on electricity, so when that goes, there's just a small supply of water at our disposal).
Speaking of water, it was a day where everyone needed to drink lots of it...and we went through at least three liters of this refreshing concoction. Per pitcher, there's lots of ice, the juice of one lime, a few slices of cucumber and a couple of springs of lemon balm...and water. Refreshing!
